Being an AV rated DUI lawyer means a lot of things, because it is a rating which is placed upon very good lawyers by the bar of Arizona, coming from the mouths and votes of people who are very schooled and experienced in the practice of law. An AV rating is based on many things, from the work that the lawyer does in his or her community, to their experience with education, to the amount of experience they have racked up as a lawyer–you aren’t going to get an excellent AV rating the minute you finish law school.

Most importantly, AV ratings focus on how well the lawyer in question does their job, so someone with such a good rating is definitely going to represent you well. The question is, can you afford it? Most of the time you shouldn’t bother, because there are plenty of competent lawyers our there who charge less, but if your case is a real doozy you might need an extra hand and should consider it.
